Savvy Sunless Solutions was founded by David Buell, a pioneer in the sunless tanning industry. As a Mystic Tan representative in 2001-2003, David introduced the concept of UV-free sunless tanning booths to tanning salons in California, Colorado Utah, Idaho, Arizona, and Washington. While working with Mystic Tan, David heard complaints from salon owners that customers were experiencing problems with the tanning mist provided by both Mystic Tan and their competitors.
David ventured out to develop and deliver a premium UV-free spray on tanning solution for the sunless tanning industry. David hired a leading chemist and laboratory to develop a superior sunless tanning solution to use in any spray tan booth.
To solve customer complaints about spray tans, Savvy Sunless developed innovative formulations using the latest technology and research:
- To eliminate the unnatural orange color, we started with a DHA and Erythrulose formulation to provide a rich, golden bronze tan that looks and fades like a real tan.
- To get rid of the sticky starch feel, we added the ingredient panthenol to our Aloe Vera-based solution to leave skin feeling nourished and hydrated.
- To diminish irregular coverage and streaking, we removed the alcohol to ensure a more uniform, even, natural-looking tan.
- To remove the bad odor, we added odor encapsulates and a fresh scent to provide a pleasant experience for all of the senses.
- To prolong the tan, we lowered the pH balance allowing the solution to penetrate further into the skin before the DHA fully reacts to give customers a vibrant, longer lasting sunless tan.
Savvy Sunless customers are getting excellent results. David tested variations of his solution at tanning salons including a salon in Beverly Hills, California where the stars tan. He listened to the salon owners and made modifications to fine-tune the solution and it has paid off. Recently, a chain of salons tested all premium solutions and ranked Savvy Sunless Solutions at the top. Businesses using airbrush tanning are also reporting excellent results.
